Eastnor Castle
Eastnor Castle lies in Herefordshire at the foot of the Malvern Hills on the edge of the Cotswolds. Surrounded by a beautiful deer park, arboretum and lake, Eastnor Castle is the home of the Hervey-Bathurst family.
It is a 19th Century revival castle built by the 2nd Baron (Lord) Somers, later 1st Earl, between 1810 and 1824 and continues to be inhabited by his descendants and is a grade 1 listed building.
Eastnor Castle is now the home of the Hervey-Bathurst family, grandsons of Arthur Cocks, 6th Baron Somers and is surrounded by a beautiful arboretum and lake. It has richly decorated interiors containing medieval armour, fine art and tapestries.
Visitors who explore the castle can view the magnificent state rooms including the Great Hall, State Dining Room, Gothic Drawing Room, Octagon Saloon and a number of the opulent bedrooms. Visitors are invited to enter the Castle through the magnificent main doors.
When it comes to fun for children, Eastnor Castle is bursting with things to entertain and excite children of all ages, including an adventure play area and the “Knight’s Maze” that has been challenging visitors for over 25 years.
The Castle Tea Room, managed by A2Zest Catering, is set in the old castle kitchen and serves a delicious range of homemade snacks, light lunches, and home-made cakes, using the very best seasonal and locally-sourced produce.
There is an electrically powered wheelchair stair climber to help guests up the 14 steps into the main ground floor state rooms. Access to the first floor bedrooms is via a Vertical Platform lift. The Castle Tea Room has pushchair and wheelchair access via a path signposted off the back drive.
